There's nothing like finding a great, new show to binge watch. Whether you're into dramas, comedies or even crime, I've compiled a list of shows that left me wishing there was just one more season... Many of these shows have ended, but some are still currently on the air. Let me know if you've watched any of these and what were your thoughts! Which were your favorites; which not so much?
There is no denying that Friends is, and will always be, a classic. Even though I've rewatched most episodes at least twice, this show never fails to make me laugh. Even with it's light-hearted humor, this show always emphasized the importance of support, understanding and of course, friendship.
A show to watch whenever you want a good laugh, Cheers, does a great job at making viewers feel like they're truly a part of something bigger.
1. One Tree Hill
OTH makes you wish that you were a part of the cast. And no matter how many seasons they filmed, it was simply not enough.
2. Greys Anatomy
This show is definitely one of my all time favorites, but I must warn you... Once you start watching Greys, you might find yourself binge watching and fully awake at 3 a.m.
3. Vampire Diaries
If you've never heard of The Vampire Diaries, you might be feeling a little apprehensive. But if you have, you know TVD is more than worthy of a spot on this list. If nothing else, you can be sure of one thing, TVD is nothing like Twilight.
4. The Originals
This series is a spinoff of Vampire Diaries and features characters who were originally written for that series. It can be watched without watching Vampire Diaries, but I recommend watching TVD first. Nonetheless, the characters in The Originals are fascinating and the cast did a great job at conveying the essence of New Orleans.
The name of this show says it all. Scandal never fails to deliver shocking plot twists every few episodes. Did I mention that Olivia Pope is a superwoman?
5. Hart of Dixie
If you love the small town feel, this show is the one for you. Hart of Dixie does a great job at providing viewers with light-hearted humor and intriguing love stories. The protagonist and main cast are fun to watch and make you wish you could visit the small town of Mobile.
1. The 100
If you're interested in a show that's unlike any you've seen before, this show is a must watch. The 100 delivers drama, romance and plenty of suspense. One thing is certain, no one is safe.
2. Stranger Things
This show is truly one of a kind. Stranger Things gives viewers the certainty of friendship, while also delivering the certainty of trouble.
1. Law and Order: Special Victims Units
One of my dad and my favorite crime shows of all time, SVU, features a pair of kickass NYC detectives. Although the show is in it's 19th season, seasons 1-12 are my favorites. If you've never watched this classic, you're definitely missing out!
2. The Blacklist
One of the most original crime shows I've watched up to date has been The Blacklist. If you want to watch a show that's full of surprises and guaranteed to pique your interest, this it it.
3. How to Get Away with Murder
A highly underrated show, How to Get Away with Murder, unveils shocking revelations and captivating storylines every season. Time and time again I've found myself thinking "just one more episode..."
Fairly new series Quantico has only aired two seasons and already receives impressive reviews. This show is filled with drama, suspense and infinite mystery. Season 3 will be airing in April; catch up while you can!
5. White Collar
Starring an FBI agent and an art thief, White Collar is much more than just another crime series. This show blurs the line between right and wrong. By the end of the sixth season, you will be asking yourself "what would I have done?"
6. Manhunt: Unabomber
A miniseries that documents the development of real life events, Manhunt: Unabomber is an amazing series for all crime show enthusiasts!
7. Ten Days in the Valley
A show that captivated me from the start, Ten Days in the Valley, follows the kidnap of a young girl. As the first season develops, viewers are confronted with startling, ugly truths. While the first season has ended, it's unknown whether or not the show will be returning for a second season.
8. The People VS. OJ Simpson
One of my favorite miniseries, The People VS. OJ Simpson, features the story of notorious O.J. Simpson. While some may disagree on the verdict, this series includes an accurate and objective look at the events that took place.
9. Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Brothers
Another intriguing miniseries, Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Brothers follows the development of the infamous Menendez murders. For many, this show offers a new perspective of the events that took place.
10. Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries
A great detective show that stars Essie Davis, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries makes viewers feel like they're watching the work of characters such as Hercule Poirot or Sherlock Holmes. For those who enjoy classic detective work, this show was made for binging.
1. The Sixties
2. The Seventies
3. The Eighties
4. The Nineties
A TV documentary series created by HBO and CNN, each season reveals the major events and developments that shaped each decade in the U.S. If you find yourself fascinated by history, these miniseries will be great for you.
